I found this quote in a book I bought last year at a sale. I'm not telling you which book or which year it was published or who it was by. I just thought it was...striking.

I have the feeling that it might really have some genuinely intrinsic aspects of violence, but I don't know, logically, why that it, or if I just think that because I've already incorporated that view of sex into my own worldview.

Perhaps it has to do with reproductive competition. I shall have to ask my Evolutionary Anthro prof...
