Known affectionately amongst my high-school gang (the last remnants of smart Jewish nerddomage at Southfield-Lathrup) as "Hitler's". It kinda looks like it on the sign, no? Ah, how I miss the days of the old Shopping Center Market on Greenfield, before it became Hillers, before it became One-Stop-Kosher.

Just the other day I was saying to another LJ friend how bothered I am that sex and violence are so confused (with one another). Sex has become a violent act; 'fuck you' is an aggressive insult, not an offer for mutually respectful loving pleasure. But... I don't know. Perhaps it's always been that way and the idea that sex could be anything but domination and submission is only a modern myth.

I have the feeling that it might really have some genuinely intrinsic aspects of violence, but I don't know, logically, why that it, or if I just think that because I've already incorporated that view of sex into my own worldview.

Perhaps it has to do with reproductive competition. I shall have to ask my Evolutionary Anthro prof...
