May. 11th, 2005 01:34 pmSo I've had a busy coupla days. I've applied to the Gap, Little Caesar's Pizza, Dairy Queen, QDoba (gourmet Taco Bell, essentially), and a coney island (I use this term generically and in lower-case because there are at least three on any given corner in metro Detroit--it's weird not to have them, when I go to Florida or California...we'll be driving around freeways or through scrubland in the dark in a rented car, and Dad will ask "Hey kids! Where do you want to go for dinner?" and Brian and I, ignoring the deep-fried alligator joints or Japanese gourmet restaurants, will say, "Let's just go to a coney island, we can get breakfast," and Dad will point out that THERE ARE NO CONEY ISLANDS ANYWHERE and it's like a freaking parallel universe) that only wanted a fry cook, which I can't do.
In the meantime, I've been compulsively making jewelry. Mostly earrings; I've got this design I do with seed beads that I've pretty much perfected. It's one thing I'm absolutely sure of doing well and that people seem to like. Mostly for people that I like. Some of you are getting very dangly earrings for gifts and things and I really hope you have pierced ears. (Or necklaces, but I'm not as good at necklaces.)
Question: Who'd be willing to pay, say, ten bucks for a pair of color-customized beaded dangly earrings? If not ten bucks, considering materials, time, and postage, what do you think would be a fair price? Mom wants me to make more so I can sell them at craft fairs. To which I say, "Eh, maybe."
ETA: Has to repost this because LJ was whining about backdating and I just discovered that the last three entries I made took place in August. WTF. I am posting from the FUTURE.
