So I've had a busy coupla days. I've applied to the Gap, Little Caesar's Pizza, Dairy Queen, QDoba (gourmet Taco Bell, essentially), and a coney island (I use this term generically and in lower-case because there are at least three on any given corner in metro Detroit--it's weird not to have them, when I go to Florida or California...we'll be driving around freeways or through scrubland in the dark in a rented car, and Dad will ask "Hey kids! Where do you want to go for dinner?" and Brian and I, ignoring the deep-fried alligator joints or Japanese gourmet restaurants, will say, "Let's just go to a coney island, we can get breakfast," and Dad will point out that THERE ARE NO CONEY ISLANDS ANYWHERE and it's like a freaking parallel universe) that only wanted a fry cook, which I can't do.

In the meantime, I've been compulsively making jewelry. Mostly earrings; I've got this design I do with seed beads that I've pretty much perfected. It's one thing I'm absolutely sure of doing well and that people seem to like. Mostly for people that I like. Some of you are getting very dangly earrings for gifts and things and I really hope you have pierced ears. (Or necklaces, but I'm not as good at necklaces.)

Question: Who'd be willing to pay, say, ten bucks for a pair of color-customized beaded dangly earrings? If not ten bucks, considering materials, time, and postage, what do you think would be a fair price? Mom wants me to make more so I can sell them at craft fairs. To which I say, "Eh, maybe."

ETA: Has to repost this because LJ was whining about backdating and I just discovered that the last three entries I made took place in August. WTF. I am posting from the FUTURE.

I'm giggling, but I've done this. And I'm tempted to [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes this. :)

Can you get pictures of the seed-bead dangly-earring thing? Ten bucks, sure, I'd toss you that, but I want to know of the design.

Yay! [livejournal.com profile] metaquotesd!

And yeah, I shall take some pictures of sample designs and post them as soon as my little brother gets home and I can make him let me use his digital camera.

Decided I had to. :)

And neat.

I would pay...

...because they're handmade. And $10 isn't unreasonable at all. I've seen shite earrings cost $35 and definitely not be worth it. So you're not asking much at all.

I definitely want to see pics...but then I want to see more pics of you, too. Jeff and I both agree that you're as cute as we thought you'd be. *grins*

And good luck on the job hunt...

Awesome. The thing is that I get my beads and such at craft stores where a pack of seed beads costs, like $2.99. So $10 will buy me supplies to make 30 more earrings. Woohoo.

Pictures coming soon, promise.

Exactly...if you know your supply price range, then you know what you can charge to get more supplies, make a profit and be reasonable to your customers.

And yay for pics!!!!!!
