I'm sick. I have laryngitis and some sort of flu thing. What the fuck comes with both flu and laryngitis? I have been searching on the Internets and I have no clue, but I'm going to an actual doctor soon and maybe they can tell me.

Ugh. Oh, and it just dumped a thousand tons of snow on us the other day and it got down to single digits last night. IT ISN'T EVEN TECHNICALLY WINTER YET. god I hate Michigan in the winter.

What do you do to keep yourself comfortable/entertained when you are sick? I have been crafting and working on my Yuletide story with a big ol' thermos of Throat Coat Tea next to me.

Sorry you're coming down with something. I have no idea what causes both flu and laryngitis.

I've been watching the reports about the storm that hit out your way. You have my sympathies.

Would a little bit of Pendergast/D'Agosta on Stromboli cheer you up? An excerpt to help you decide:

“Oww!” Pendergast tried to pull his hand away as Vincent dabbed iodine on his torn knuckles.

“What are you, eight? Hold still.” Getting a firmer grip, Vincent continued with his administrations. “If it stings, that means it’s working.”

Wondering what dubious authority had proclaimed that law, Pendergast held his tongue against any further protests and waited patiently as Vincent tended to his hands. If he overlooked the sharp burn of the iodine, Pendergast couldn’t deny there was something curiously agreeable in the way Vincent was looking after him.

IT IS A MYSTERY :( ugh, you'd think Michigan would be more used to dealing with snow, but everyone is still driving like a moron and I still forget that I can't go out in a T-shirt.

awwww that is adorable. I love D'Agosta taking care of Pendergast when Pendergast is acting like a drama queen about something small. (I reread the one you wrote with Pendergast having the flu last night, and it cheered me up so much.)

Aw, sorry you're feeling sick! :(

When I'm sick, I call my mom to whine. A nice dose of sympathy always makes me feel better. And then she encourages me to just lay around on the couch watching television and drinking tea, so I do that. Watching bad daytime TV is a sick-time tradition.

My mom called me this morning and ordered me not to say a word while she told me to go to the doctor, drink clear fluids, etc. etc. Moms are the best.

I hope you get well quickly. Illness is so unnecessary. (one day there may be an internet where you can cough on the screen and get a diagnosis from that. Or maybe illness will be obselete by then... or people will get designer illnesses from a catalogue... so much more exclusive than mass-produced mass-consumption illnesses)

Also: your weather is totally mental isn't it? Completely off the hook and even a little non-non-heinous. I hope you can stay warm until the sun comes back.

Mostly I feel sorry for myself when ill. But hot showers or baths are so much nicer when body aches from the flu. Mostly: reading, watching films, drinking beverages.. same as when not sick, but with snot and longer naps.

If I'm going to be sick, I'd rather just up the delirium a little bit and skip the sore throat. Sore throats are so annoying. I will happily choose my annual winter illness out of a catalogue.

Oh yeah. Michigan weather is bipolar. :(

haha, snot and longer naps. I cannot deal with hot showers, sadly. I just sort of stay in there blankly and burn.

Mostly, I play video games when I'm sick. But here lately, I've been immersed in documentaries on geology and nuclear science. What's wrong with me?!

Tomorrow, I am MOST DEFINITELY going to the arts and crafts store to look for those pieces of stamped metal I told you about. I didn't get to last week because I fail. :D

Jigsaw sounds like a bit of a mentally strenuous occupation right now. I wonder if there are jigsaws with only two pieces...
