I've been working for the census. It's not a fun or easy job, but it pays well and I feel really good about being part of it. Unfortunately, I have to deal with people who are incredibly stupid/cranky/on the edge of a nervous breakdown, but that's going to happen in every job. (I love the college graduate who didn't know his roommate's first name and had no idea what the census even was. "I don't know, I've never heard of it. Did they just start it? Is it, like, optional?") It's compounded by the fact that I also have to deal with people who may not exist and who consider you to be horribly invading their privacy. But I'm also getting paid so BOO-YAH. They keep instating things like quotas for forms filled out and hours worked, and acceptable ratios, so it's a little nervewracking...that, and it's been raining pretty bad and we're not the post office, we don't work in fire and flood and gloom of night.
Also started a scriptwriting class, which is pretty cool. The prof is very laid-back and encouraging, and I learned that Stephen Sondheim writes lying down (same as me!). So now I'm working on my assignments at night and I will post them when I am done. :)

anivad and I just copyrighted our FIRST FINISHED ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY. WOO.
AND AND AND I have an interview with the AmeriCorps on Monday. The AmeriCorps is kind of like the Peace Corps, but domestic...I'd be doing AIDS education, prevention, etc. and I really hope that I make it. I'm just thrilled I actually have an interview--there were over 800 applicants and I only just got mine in on time.

D and I will be applying to the PeaceCorps next year. We're excited. We wanted to do something like this for a while and since I'll be graduated, I'll have plenty of time to contribute. ^____^ Good luck with the interview and hope you get in!! *hugs*
