To My Yuletide Writer

Dear Yuletide Writer,
oh god this is the first time I ever wrote a Yuletide letter I hope I did this right.
Stuff I like in general: I generally like a blend of humor and character insight in my stories, and subtle character interaction where emotions are implied in action. I like plots that are only hinted at or fragmented, because I have a hard time with plot anyway and sometimes it's easier for me to enjoy picking out bits of a fragmented plot than one that's right there in front of me.
I do like little narrative gimmicks, bits of magical realism where appropriate, and subtle cracks in the fourth wall, although these are not necessary for me to enjoy a story.
Prompt-specific stuff:
1) The AbFab prompt: I love this show because it's fucking hilarious and because I have become ridiculously attached to Eddie and Patsy, as outrageous as they are. I definitely don't mind a more serious story, as long as you don't entirely dispose with the humor. If you include Saffie, please go easy on her--I like her.
2) The "Commercials" prompt: Okay, I admit I picked this for the lulz. But...I think Flo is awesome, I have a curious affection for the Shat, and...I want even MORE about The Most Interesting Man in the World, I admit it. I'd like to see a plot if you can make up one, but this is for the lulz, and whatever you do, you should have fun with it.
3) The Pendergast prompt: While I adore the Brothers Pendergast, and the amazing team of Pendergast and D'Agosta, a big part of the reason I love this series is because of the female characters. They're all strong in different ways and have their own weaknesses and quirks, and I've always wanted to see more of them interacting with each other and developing their own complex and possibily conflicted relationships. I know I asked for femmeslash, but I don't absolutely need porn--subtle subtext is good, too.
My opinions about the characters, should you need a guide:
Nora: I love Nora. She's adventurous, cute, and knows when to tell people off and when to keep her cool.
Margo: Endearingly flawed. She's immature, nerdy, and gets mad easily...but sticks to her principles.
Corrie: I love Corrie in all her teenie misfit gothiness, although I don't mind if you write about a more mature Corrie.
Viola: Yeah, I know Viola is not the most popular character. But she's grown on me. I don't think she's super-perfect or some kind of ditzy moron--she's smart, but clearly ruled by her emotions, and during a lot of her appearance it seems like she just really, really wants people to like her.
Useful links:
The authors' page
The "Journal of Corrie Swanson" page (gimmicky, but cute and occasionally useful for reference)
An archive of files of e-books of the first eight Pendergast books AND "Thunderhead" (starring Nora and Bill, but not Pendergast).
As for the "adventures" part...well, I like all adventures. Write about whatever you're fascinated by and knowledgeable about.
4) The "Mission: Impossible" prompt: I've only seen the first season of this show and slogged through a couple of the awful tie-in novels, so I know nothing about the blonde guy who took over in season 2. But I looooooove the first season. I love it so much that I created an entire community,
your_mission. (Where, er, I posted one actual fanfic and a great deal of extremely silly chatlog porn and other things, mostly friendslocked.) And my initial response to watching the entire first season in one go is here.
Thank you for writing a story for me! And if you don't choose to fill the Pendergast prompt, you should download the books from the link anyway (hint hint, everyone on my flist who hasn't read them--also, thank you
drworm for sending them to me in the first place!) and read them, because they are fun if you like mysteries, monsters, homoerotic crime-solving duos, and strong female characters, many of whom have postgraduate degrees.
