Apr. 27th, 2005 07:03 pmI have been a very busy little abeja today. Not only have I completed my schedule for fall, but I've failed to sell an illicit Physics textbook.
Schedule first: I've got amazing classes for the fall. Fantasy and Science Fiction (they teach classes on this stuff! Did I ever pick the right school); German 101 (I already took 4 years of Spanish, it's time for another language); Intro to Sociology (the class is three hours long and meets once a week after dinner, this ought to be interesting); Intro to Literary Analysis (with the head of the department...yay?); and Intro to Psych (I <3 double-majoring). This is quite good, really. I got all the classes I really wanted--two elective classes to finish off those requirements, two classes that will start me on my frantic academic path, and one class recommended to me by the Best Teacher I've Had All Year, who provided the illict Physics textbook. Someone left it behind in class, and he suggested that I go to the SBX, sell it, and split the money with him. I thought this was a fine idea, and hurried off to the bookstore only to discover that since it was an International Edition, the bookstore wouldn't take it. I suppose this is the reason why its previous owner did, in fact, leave it behind--every college student knows that textbooks at the end of the year = $$$. And I could have used some sushi money. Oh well.
I've made a Decision. No more fanfic until finals are over. This means no writing, brainstorming, doing challenges, posting challenges, posting links, or even reading it. Yes, that last one is going to be difficult, because fanfic is difficult not to read. It's going to be even more difficult not to brainstorm. I figure I'll either channel all that creative energy towards writing amazing papers and doing fantastically well on exams, or the top of my head will blow off from repression and I will get bits of brain all over everyone else's ScanTron and then they won't register on the little ScanTron machine and everyone's results will read "BRAINS" instead of "42%" or whatever their actual results are.
And in a couple weeks...HAPPY FUN STORY TIME. I have plans to post some old stories that I particularly like to celebrate the end of finals.
Unusually, I do have a couple of links to outside things that might interest people:
Item one: Zombies. Real-life OMG-holy-mother-of-Lovecraft zombies in Cambodia. Get out the chainsaws and shotguns, guys.
Item two: Time traveler's convention on May 7th at MIT. Tell your friends, your eccentric physics professor, that weird kid from the future who keeps following you around...I'd go, but my dad's getting married that day. Which doesn't mean my future self won't be attending, of course.
cyborg_telepath, I assume I'll see you and David Bowie there? (Injokes yay.)
