My roommates are weird. Or maybe it is just me that is weird and my roommates are perfectly normal.
Music wars and towel weirdness )
Last day of library class was yesterday. We had to fill out a class evaluation form.
One of the questions that stood out (because it was actually set off to the side in its own little box), was this: "Did this class make you uncomfortable by challenging your values or beliefs in any way?"
Made me go "Dur..." for a second. Isn't that what a really good college class is supposed to do, make you look at your own beliefs and think about them?
And what if you're in the wrong? One of the lectures we had was about copyright law and plagiarism. What if one of your long-held values was that plagiarism was the right thing to do? That'd be challenging your beliefs.
And, in fact, a couple of my beliefs were challenged during the class (particularly those about music file-sharing programs like Kazaa). We even had a debate about it.
How would one impart that your beliefs were indeed challenged during the class, and that you enjoyed it and were mentally stimulated by it? There's no way to do that.
