oh my god, twice-baked potatoes are so good. I know there's a developmental stage where small children get nervy about new foods because that's the age where we originally learned to forage, and eating the wrong berry could mean death. Maybe your friend never grew out of that.

I used to have the same problem with a lot of fruits! I've only recently gotten around to really enjoying strawberries on their own, because they tend to be very tart if they're not perfectly ripe. And the combination of taste and texture in an orange will actually overstimulate me. (The acid in some fruits is another issue, though.)
