I KNOW, RIGHT??? Man, once the lady was eating with us and we offered her a twice-baked potato and she gave it this dubious look and said, "It looks good, but... nooooo..." She was even cautious about biting into a popover, because she had never had one before. She took these teensy little bites like she thought it would EXPLODE IN HER MOUTH if she wasn't careful. I was like. HONEY. It is JUST BREAD. I have never met another person so afraid of food. It was like she thought experiencing an unpleasant taste would be the end of the world.
I don't think I'm a supertaster but I reckon I'm probably close. I have big issues with sour tastes too - I even have trouble eating fruits if they're not perfectly sweet-tasting (or doused in sugar or chocolate or some such). I also figure there's a strong likelihood of me being on the autism spectrum somewhere, so it could be related to that.
