If I lose anything, I ask God where it is, because He must know. I then generally look right at it the next second. Probably 95% of times.
There are exceptions. Some things are better lost. Long ago when money was tight I kept a record of every penny spent for a while, and once I had developed good habits, I lost the book. So I asked God where it was, and it refused to show up.
About a month later, when I had relaxed my obsessive accounting, I told the Lord that I had overdone it, and that moment I looked right where the book was. So straight away, I threw it out.
So I can't say "God always tells me where things are when they are lost", but I can say He does better. He also loses things that are no good for me.
