kleenexwoman: A caricature of me looking future-y. (Cinnamon sees all)
[personal profile] kleenexwoman

This journal isn't completely friends-only, but some of it is; how much depends simply on my mood.

I like new friends, but I also like to know where my new friends come from. If you are planning on friending me or have recently friended me and we haven't talked, please let me know how you found my journal--you don't have to, but I would appreciate it. If we know each other pretty well already, feel free to do the same if the urge strikes you.

Additional note: I do small friendslist cuts periodically--if we haven't really talked at all or I don't remember who you are, you may get bumped. If you still want to read my journal anyway, just let me know and I'll add you back on.

Shouldn't that alien dude be using the tubey things on his head to smoke, rather than his mouth?

Not any more than a human would use their penis to smoke.

That reminds me of an old joke that I can't pull out of the mental archives right now. Will send if it burbles up.

Hooray, new community! Sucks that they banned you (I missed all the drama, although I'm pleased that you've created a new one); the poems you posted nearly almost always made me giggle for the rest of the day.

An interesting person from the interesting country =)
Posting comments is a good practise for my english =) exams will come in 24.06.08 LOL
Mmm... trying to translate russian tales on english is a good idea... If it's so hard for you to learn russian language (it's hard even for Russians =)), maybe I'll try to translate some tales for you... and you can make my english translation more mmmmm литературным... literary(i'm not sure if i use this word right).

I don't know if literary would be the right word--grammatical, maybe? Language barriers are so frustrating, because there are so many different shades of meaning in words...but so interesting, as well. I would love more translations :) My e-mail is kleenexwoman42@yahoo.com, we can e-mail or IM (if you use Yahoo Messenger?) if you like. :)

I use the www.mail.ru servise, my e-mail is landladyrafi@mail.ru. I had never try to send letters on yahoo mail, but I'll try. My exams will end in July, 3. Then I'll try to find and translate some interesting tales for you. If it will not be wery late... your searching looks like you are writing a diploma or something like that?..

Great that you love the Man from UNCLE and are also young! I have had comments that I am far too young to like MfU, although I am 26 and old enough to have watched the re-runs on daytime TV in the 90's so that makes me old enough to be a fan! :-)
Can I friend you if u don't mind?

Too young to like a crazy spy show? Never!!! I never got to watch MfU on TV, but I'm definitely young enough to download episodes from the Internet ;) Sure, friend away!

A Journalfen group I watch linked to someone talking about how awful and offensive the group was, and I decided I had to check it out, and thought that it was actually pretty awesome--I like the focus on politicians I might have not known about, and I like that some members actually talk about the politicians' careers and policies along with posting hot pictures of them.

If you don't mind me asking, where's that screencap from? The spy-type dude looks intriguing.

And, uh, have no fear. I'm not actually stalking you, just... tooling around. :D

It's from Naked Lunch, book by William S. Burroughs, movie by David Cronenberg. The spy-type dude is in fact a fictional portrayal of Mr. Burroughs (a.k.a. Billy Lee in the movie), a heroin junkie, queer ephebophile, and groundbreaking beat writer. He's sort of a spy in the movie, in a way. It's an excellent movie.

And hi!

Self: Two cute guys!

Brain to self: Uh--one of them's an alien.
Self: Yeah, but he's still cute, somehow (80% of characters in movies and 90 - 99% of aliens are male).
I recognized the movie from publicity pictures though I've never seen it.

I was looking up Harlequin Ichthyosis. Then I started looking around; it looks interesting. I like your picture of the river.

There's not much on my LJ account; I mostly hang out at Wordpress (sciencenotes.wordpress.com).

I am not surprised. Urgh, Hollywood. I still want a Mugwump of my own.

Ahh, the Harlequin babies...I love that that entry is still going strong.

I will check out your blog!

That is from "Naked Lunch." It's by David Cronenberg, and is...a biopic of William S. Burroughs predicated on the assumption that the events in his book "Naked Lunch" actually happened. Very, very odd little movie!
